Senior Pandemic Shopping Hours Slashed, Less Time for Seniors to Shop Safely During Raging Delta Variant Surge

Costco Wholesale has decided to continue special shopping hours reserved for the most vulnerable. However, rather than having the designated shopping hours five days a week, it is reduced to twice weekly. This decision comes in light of a recent rise in coronavirus infections across all 50 states.

The USA Today reports that positive COVID-19 infections rose for three consecutive days leading to this decision made on Tuesday, July 20. Additionally, over 25,000 patients were in hospitals suspected to have COVID-19 July 18—a 24.1% increase from the week before.

Costco Wholesale’s special shopping hours have been reduced as of Monday, July 26. For more information, read the original article from Kelly Tyko at USA Today.

Senior Security Alliance urges everyone to remain informed and safe. Although restrictions are relaxing, it is important to remain vigilant.
