The most (and least) tax-friendly states for retirees

The newly retired and the soon-to-retire have a lot to consider when choosing a place to call home. Property taxes, sales taxes, and taxes on various kinds of retirement income–not to mention, taxes on Social Security benefits in many states–can add up to quite a sum for seniors on a fixed income.

Taking all of these factors into consideration, Kiplinger’s ranked the three friendliest and three least friendly states when it comes to taxes and retirees.

The Best: Alaska, Wyoming, Georgia

The Not-so-Best: Rhode Island, Vermont, Connecticut
