The news often talks about “The Great Resignation;” more often than not, the whole story isn’t told.

Even though a large number of individuals have been retiring early since the pandemic, Social Security applications haven’t grown at the same rate. Rather it seems people are more willing to retire early, but they’re still willing to wait until they are full retirement age to claim their benefits.

Why is this the case? The Motley Fool touches on a few reasons why people may have been reluctant to apply for Social Security benefits.
