As previously mentioned, there are some serious staffing issues within the Social Security Administration. As a result, the customer service has been lacking, leading to an average wait time of at least 13.5 minutes before individuals get through to a representative.

Luckily, there seems to be some hope on the horizon. On May 19th, Congress held a hearing to see what can be done to alleviate the understaffing issue.

Currently, there is a proposal in the U.S. House of Representatives to reinforce funding for the administration. This reinforcement would allow for more staffing to help out with customer service.

Senior citizens deserve so much more than obnoxious wait times, inefficiency, and financial insecurity. Join us in urging the politicians in Washington to make a difference and pass our bill now.
