The Social Security Administration released the payment schedule for 2022. According to this article, Social Security payments will be made on Wednesdays, based on an individual’s birthday.
For those whose birthday falls from the 1st through the 10th of the month, payment will be made on the second Wednesday each month. Anyone born on the 11th through the 20th will be paid on the third Wednesday. Finally, anyone born after the 20th will be paid on the fourth Wednesday.
The article notes that there are a few exceptions to this rule. These include:
- Anyone who filed for benefits before May 1, 1997
- Anyone receiving Social Security and SSI payments
- If Medicare premiums are paid for by the state
- If an individual lives in a foreign country
Anyone who falls into one of these four categories will receive their payments on the third of the month.
