President Biden proposed a budget for 2023 that included more funding to improve Social Security Administration’s (SSA) services.

CNBC reports that the proposal would increase the Social Security Administration’s budget by $1.8 billion — a 14 percent increase from the funding enacted in 2021. These additional funds would go to various areas of the SSA, such as teleservice centers, and additional staff to help speed up processing times.

Additionally, the article notes that another bill was reintroduced in Congress. This legislation would provide a much-needed boost for beneficiaries. And while it is a great start, the bill is simply not enough.

That’s why we are asking for your help to urge members of Congress to pass our bill, The Senior Citizens Bill of Rights. Find out how you can help seniors receive more financial security now.
