According to USA Today, the CDC advisory panel recommended a booster shot for individuals in long-term care facilities, at higher-risk, or are at least 65 years old. However, this recommendation only applies to individuals who received the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at least six months prior.

The article continues, outlining the current data on the other two vaccines.

The article explains that Moderna has sent in a request to authorize a booster shot of their vaccine. However, the booster shot will be a lower dose of the original vaccine; the FDA is currently considering this request.

The article also explains that there has been new information released about the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. According to the article, the new information reveals that a second dose of the one-dose vaccine is not only safe but can also improve the overall effectiveness of the vaccine. However, there has yet to be a formal request submitted to the government about authorization.

As information continues to be released, it is essential to remember that the original immunizations still provide protection. To determine the best course of action for yourself, make sure to remain informed and aware, remain cautious, and continue practicing recommended safety measures.
