Pandemic worry has been winding down again resulting in more and more restrictions being lifted. As this happens, experts are reviewing how COVID-19 can affect individuals long-term. AJC reports that the long-term effects can be particularly difficult for those over the age of 65.
According to the article, 1 in 3 adults over 65 sought additional care for new or persistent conditions 21 days after initially being diagnosed. Theories about what causes this “long COVID” have been surfacing, the article reports; unfortunately, there have yet to be any definitive conclusions.
