Seniors Given Vouchers For Produce

According to WLTX.com, the South Carolina Department of Social Services offers eligible senior citizens a way to save money and buy fresh produce from farmers’ markets.

The program, called the Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program, provides those eligible with $25 to purchase fresh produce. The program began 20 years ago with only 6 counties, but has since grown to 43 counties, the article continues.

This is a great step for senior citizens in South Carolina. But what about seniors outside those 43 counties? We should be helping all senior citizens achieve more financial security.

That is why Senior Security Alliance support The Senior Citizens Bill of Rights. To join us in urging the politicians in Washington to pass our bill and give senior citizens nationwide more financial security, check out our petition here.
