CBS Baltimore reports that the state of Maryland is looking to combat the increased loneliness senior citizens are feeling from social distancing. Their strategy is to launch a Pen Pal program.
The Department of Recreation & Parks and the Department of Aging & Human Services plan to start the program in January 2021.
The program will not only be a way to combat the boredom of quarantine, but it will also help keep people connected and feeling less alone.
