World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is tomorrow, Tuesday, June 15th. And, according to the Social Security Administration’s latest blog post, cases of elder abuse and exploitation have increased significantly during the pandemic.
The article goes on to explain various ways to combat this exploitation. These include:
- Checking in with senior citizens, making sure they stay connected to family and community members.
- Relying on credible resources.
- Staying informed and up-to-date on the latest scams, including COVID-19 scams.
Senior citizens are an important part of our community; it is essential for us to continue to help and protect them. A great way to do this is by fighting for their financial security—something we at Senior Security Alliance, are continually doing.
