Even after putting more attention on senior citizen vaccinations, there are many seniors who remain unvaccinated. According to a report by NJ1015, homebound seniors have not received the same levels of attention as nursing homes. This lack of attention has contributed to a slower inoculation rate.

Additionally, cumbersome rules and regulations have also caused the inoculation rate to slow. These processes have created more obstacles for the home health care agencies. These agencies are uniquely equipped to help during this time, as many provide patients with annual flu shots.

Luckily, the article states that around 7,000 New Jersey residents have received their vaccinations at home. But the push continues. In hopes of keeping the most vulnerable safe and out of the hospital, the United States continues the push to inoculate as many senior citizens as possible.

Even as things start looking up, it is important to take the time to do our research, ask professionals for advice, and do our very best to stay safe.
