Native plants do not require as much maintenance or effort to grow as other ornamental plants. This makes them a great opportunity for beginner gardeners to test their green thumbs, start a new hobby, and create positive change for the environment surrounding them. Additionally, they are known to attract beloved pollinators such as butterflies and hummingbirds.

However, every region has different native plants. Those native to the southern region of the United States are different from those in the west. Luckily, we are helping eliminate the guesswork by examining plants native to each region of the United States.

Last week, we took a look at those native to the mid-Atlantic region of the United States. This week, we examine plants indigenous to the southeastern region.
