Hinson Willing to Consider Raising Social Security Age Requirement

Congresswoman-elect Ashley Hinson is open to the idea of raising the age requirement to collect Social Security benefits.

Currently, the system is receiving a negative cash flow. Social Security is projected to be able to pay full benefits to their claimants until around the year 2035. At this time, claimants will then see a cut to their benefits.

To help fix this, Hinson declared that she and other lawmakers must remain open to the “tough decisions” that have the potential to fix Social Security for future generations. That includes remaining open to raising the age requirement of Social Security claimants.

What do you think about this potential change?
