How to Address Retirement Concerns

Many individuals have retirement concerns. In fact, according to this article, about 42% of workers are concerned that retirement is not in their future.

To help make sure retirement concerns are addressed and the process is as stress-free as possible, there are a few every worker should consider:

First, know how much is needed for a comfortable retirement. The general guideline is to need approximately 80% of any preretirement income.

Next, plan a reasonable and realistic budget. Start creating a budget by tracking current spending habits. Then, look at what is spent and find any kind of eliminations that can be made to help alleviate any retirement concerns.

Finally, take a moment and assess retirement expectations. Do you have multiple sources of income, or is your retirement funded solely through Social Security benefits? How much in benefits are you entitled to? Are there sacrifices that can be made to help cut costs?

It may feel like an impossible task to save enough for a comfortable retirement. But, by creating a plan, the goal will become more realistic and less stressful.
