Retirement planning is no easy feat. Unfortunately, research has shown that women face a few more obstacles — most notably the gender pay gap.
According to CNBC, women workers were found to have less than half of the total household retirement savings as men. The estimated median for this total for men is $118,000 while for women it was estimated to be $57,000.
Luckily, there are actions that can be taken to improve the likely hood of a better-quality retirement. The article reports a woman should:
- Make sure to plan
- Look for better paying job opportunities
- Remain involved in family finances
With these three tips, women can have a better chance at a more comfortable retirement.
